The first homes in the Wilmington NC Community of 
Emerald Forest were built in the late 90’s. Homes are for the most part Colonial style, with a few Low Country, and Ranch style homes mixed in. The sq ft ranges from 1300 to around 3000 sq ft.
Most of the homes are vinyl sided, although there a few brick homes in the community. Lots sizes vary with the average being around 1/3 of an acre. The community was entirely built out by 2003.
The neighborhood of 120 homes was laid out in a curvilinear pattern which gives it an open feeling. Conservation areas run

Ogden Elementary, the new elementary school built in 2007 is located just outside the Oyster Lane Entrance to Emerald Forest.
Emerald Forest is conveniently located within 7 miles of beautiful Wrightsville Beach, a quick a 3 mile drive to the fantastic shopping at the Mayfaire Town Center, only 8 miles to Historic Downtown Wilmington. It’s outside the city limits so residents pay no city taxes..
